Notice how wide those bands are. Someone died at 33 mg/L. Someone else lived through 574.

The variability nobody warns you about

Now the uncomfortable part, and this is coffee-specific.

Those numbers are averages. Real cups wander a long way from them.

Researchers bought the same specialty coffee, from the same outlet, on six consecutive days. Caffeine content ranged from 259 mg to 564 mg per serving.

Same drink. Same shop. More than double the caffeine depending on the day.
